Mother's Day event

Children are our future. This thesis is always true, but it is more often pathetically proclaimed than thinking about the price of this future. What does it mean to be a mother in today's Ukraine? What difficulties do parents face throughout their lives, because fatherhood and motherhood is a job from which it is impossible to "release". To what extent is society aware of the needs of people with children, especially children with disabilities?

The Non Governmental Organization «Association for the Defense of the Rights of People with Disabilities in Ukraine» together with the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Holosiivska District State Administration in the city of Kyiv held an event for Mother's Day, to which children with disabilities and their mothers were invited. For adults, the event took place in the form of tea and conversation at a round table, while children were entertained by animators with interesting and fun games.

Volunteers of the public organization distributed social packages to families, which traditionally consisted of food and essential medicines.

One of the main topics of the event was the possibility of organizing trips for children with disabilities to Austria for rehabilitation, various excursions and rest. In addition, the round table discussed the problems of the lives of people with disabilities in Ukraine, as well as the possibility of launching various social programs that can positively affect the lives of children with disabilities and the families in which they grow up.

The event was attended by the head of the Holosiivsk RDA — Serhiy SADOVOY, the deputy head of the Holosiivsk RDA — Volodymyr BEREZOVSKY, the head of the social protection department of the Holosiivsk RDA — Nataliya AHMADOVA, the director of the Holosiivsk district center of social services in Kyiv — Olga SHUYSKA, the director of the territorial center of social services of Holosiivsk of the district — Oksana RUBAN, president of the NGO " ADRPDU" — Yan Gladkyi.
